2024
Check first, then order
Ahead of the holiday season, the European Consumer Centre (ECC) is warning shoppers to be careful when buying online. Complaints about foreign webshops have risen by nearly 40% in 2024. To help, the ECC, together with partners like the ACM, Fraudehelpdesk, LMIO en Consumentenbond is launching the campaign Check first, then order!.
This campaign especially targets young people aged 18 to 30 and offers useful tips to spot misleading offers and fake webshops.

Check reviews before you buy online
In 2022 and 2023, the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets, Consumentenbond, Fraudehelpdesk, The Dutch Internet Scam Hotline (LMIO), and the European Consumer Centre joined forces to launch a campaign for shoppers: If you’re buying from a website you don’t know, always check the reviews first.

Don’t let your dream holiday keep you awake at night
In spring 2021 and 2022, the European Consumer Centre and Fraudehelpdesk ran a campaign to raise awareness about common problems holidaymakers face before and during their trips.
