How can I send a parcel cheaply within the EU?
If you want to send a parcel to another EU country, it can be difficult to compare different delivery services and prices. Fortunately, the European Commission has created a handy tool that helps you find the best option quickly. Read on to find out how the price comparison tool works and how it can help you save money.
What is the European Commission’s price comparison tool?
The European Commission has created a price comparison tool that lets you compare prices from different parcel delivery companies. This tool is available in all official EU languages, including Dutch. It helps you quickly find the cheapest delivery service for sending parcels within the EU.
The price information from the various couriers is checked and updated every year. If a parcel company has more than 50 employees or operates in several EU countries, it must provide its prices. This helps the European Commission ensure more transparency and openness about international parcel prices.
How does the price comparison tool work?
The price comparison tool is easy to use. Follow these steps:
- Enter the EU country you are sending the parcel from
- Enter the EU country you want to send the parcel to
Choose the type of parcel you want to send. Is it a letter or a larger parcel? How heavy is it? Do you have any special requests, like a track and trace code or registered delivery?
The tool will show you an overview of the delivery companies that offer the service you need. You’ll immediately see the price for sending your parcel. Please note that the prices shown do not include VAT.
