Incorrect price indication in webshop. Just a mistake?
It happens sometimes that webshop products are offered for an incredibly low price because of a technical or human error. If you place an order at that time, you obviously want the product for that price. But is the seller required to go along with it?
(No) purchase agreement
If you place an order, a purchase agreement is established. A (online) purchase is basically a binding agreement, but there is an exception to the rule. If it is clear that the price indication is wrong, for example in the case of exorbitantly high discounts or an extremely low price, the seller can cancel the order. You should not have assumed that the price was correct and for that reason the seller does not have any obligation to deliver. The seller does have to correct the mistake on the website (as soon as possible).
Doubt about the selling price
If any doubts exist about the indicated price it is recommended to make an enquiry with the seller, preferably by email. If something seems too good to be true, is usually is. Don’t try to take advantage of this, it’ll only lead to disappointment.
