Bankruptcy

Furniture webshop Made.com was declared bankrupt on 8 November 2022. Made.com had been experiencing financial problems for a while. It has no longer been possible to place orders since October. The reasons for the bankruptcy were the disappointing sales this year.

Orders

Thousands of consumers are still waiting for their orders to be delivered. You can read about which orders will still be delivered on consultancy PwC's website. Orders that were still in production will no longer be delivered. It is not possible to cancel orders. You will also not get your money back from the furniture webshop.

Disputing payments

Did you pay for your purchase by credit card and is the order not being delivered? We then advise you to contact your credit card provider to dispute the payment. This means the credit card provider can reverse the payment if the vendor fails to fulfil the agreement. This way, you might still get your money back.

Claim

Did you use a different payment method, or are you unable to get your money back via the credit card provider? Then send your claim to PwC in the United Kingdom. This consultancy is responsible for handling the bankruptcy. The procedure for submitting a claim is not completely clear yet. The PwC website says you can send an email to: @email.

We will amend this news article as soon as we receive more information about the procedure.

Waiting times

Bear in mind that as a consumer, you are last in line for getting your money back. The likelihood of you getting your money back (in full) is therefore remote. It could also take months before you receive a response from the insolvency practitioner.

ECC Mediation

Because Made.com has been declared bankrupt, the ECC can no longer mediate in your complaint. Unfortunately, we cannot help you get your money back.
