Belgian online furniture retailer Meubis was recently declared bankrupt by a judge. Does Meubis owe you money? Are you waiting for your order to be delivered? Or do you have another complaint about this e-retailer? Here’s what you can do.

Complaints

Meubis has garnered a lot of negative interest recently due to the large number of complaints levelled by consumers. The ECC was also inundated with complaints about this Belgian company. Most complaints were about:

  • poor reachability
  • failure to pay out refunds
  • long delivery times
  • and the non-delivery of orders

ECC Mediation

Because Meubis has been declared bankrupt, the ECC can no longer mediate your complaint, so there is no point in filing a new complaint with us about the Belgian furniture retailer.
If we are already processing your complaint, the lawyer handling your case will contact you shortly.

Trustee

If you are you still waiting for a refund or delivery of your order, please notify the trustee through Belgium’s Central Solvency Register. The trustee is the person who arranges the further handling of the bankruptcy. Filing a claim costs approximately €6. The trustee will tries to pay off as many debts as possible, but it is important to realise that consumers are often at the back of the line and that the chances are slim that you will get your money back or that your furniture will be delivered.

Please keep in mind that it may take a long time to get a response.
